These products require mechanical ability and know-how to operate. You must be the judge of your own ability. YOU are the person who will control and operate your model and model engine in a safe manner and by purchasing and using this product YOU are assuming all responsibility for your activity. (Read safety instructions.)

You, the customer, agree to assume full responsibility and liability for any property damage, injury or death and hereby hold MECOA/K&B/RJL and its affiliates and personnel harmless from any claims for any incidence that may occur.

Your MECOA, K&B, RJL, FUJI, HB, HP, or RJL Vintage Model Engine and products have passed rigid factory inspections and is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period ranging from 90 days to one year from date of original purchase depending on brand/model. Retain your bill of sale or sales receipt as proof of purchase date is required.

This warranty expires at the end of that period regardless if the merchandise is used or not during that time period.  Obsolete or old stock engines & merchandise, even if purchased from retail outlets, are not eligible for this or any other warranty. Only current production engines & merchandise are warranted for a period ranging from 90 days to one year from the date of original purchase.

Warranty applies to original purchaser only and is not transferable.  Purchase must be made from a legitimate dealer or direct from MECOA/K&B and is subject to verification by MECOA/K&B.  In some cases, dealers may be required to verify their source of purchase.  "Gray market" items or items from questionable sources will not be warranted.  Be sure you buy from a reputable and legitimate source. Items purchased off ebay are not warrantied, unless sold by seller MODELERDIRECT and it is stated in the listing that warranty is provided.

PLEASE NOTE WE ONLY COVER DEFECTS, NOT OTHER FAILURES.
DEFECTS WILL BE DETERMINED AT OUR FACTORY BY OUR PERSONNEL,
NOT BY THE CUSTOMER.

This warranty does not apply to damage or loss caused by:

1. Shipping and handling.
2. Improper break-in.
3. Use of fuel with more nitro, incorrect oil ratio, or less oil other than specified.
4. Crash damage, misuse or abuse resulting from abnormal service.
5. Use of muffler or tuned pipe not provided by MECOA or K&B.
6. Any modification, alteration, or abuse of the engine.
7. Use for purposes other than use for which engine was designed.
8. Running engine without adequate cooling.
9. Use of incorrect size propeller.
10. Rusted internal parts.
11. Customer disassembly for any reason.
12. Stripped threads resulting from overtightening.
13. Ingestion of dust, dirt, water, or other material.
14. Items that become loose and fall off engine or muffler.
15. Loose screws or fasteners.
    

Other exclusions from warranty are normal wear and tear, marring or scratching of the finish, any incidental or consequential damages caused by, or resulting from, a defect in material or workmanship, and normal wear.

DO NOT DISASSEMBLE YOUR ENGINE! Doing so may cause damage which will not be covered under warranty. No exceptions! Call or write us first and explain your problem.

Our liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defect or defective part at our factory and does not include inbound or outbound shipping expenses.  Specifically, no responsibility is assumed for any damage to any model, accessory, radio control equipment, person or property resulting from use of or a crash in which a MECOA/K&B or RJL product is used.

Notes on Marine, Ducted fan, and Auto Engine Warranty: These engines are used in a competition or High Stress environment and are expected to produce extreme power output. Due to extreme running conditions and use of high nitro fuel, some of our marine, ducted fan and auto engine warranty is limited only to parts deemed defective after inspection at our factory during the first 90 days.

WARRANTY CARD MUST BE MAILED WITHIN 10 DAYS OF PURCHASE TO BE VALID. If purchased directly from our factory or affiliate company, your warranty is automatically activated.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF OUR WARRANTY and USE AGREEMENT, PLEASE DO NOT BUY OUR PRODUCT or RETURN THE UNUSED PRODUCT TO PLACE OF PURCHASE IN ACCORDANCE WITH TIME PERIOD ALLOWED FOR RETURN.

BY USING THE PRODUCT, OR RETURNING WARRANTY CARD TO FACTORY, YOU THE CUSTOMER AGREES TO ALL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY/USE AGREEMENT AND ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR INJURY WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THE USE THIS PRODUCT.

Please note that the customer is responsible for both in and outbound shipping charges.

• Be sure to include a legible copy of your sales receipt in the box with the engine. Provide a brief note as to what problem you are experiencing and also include your mailing address and telephone number (with best time to reach you), or e-mail address, in case we need to contact you for more information. The customer is responsible for all inbound shipping charges.

• Any engine for which warranty coverage is declined is considered a non-warranty engine and will be returned to customer providing a service fee and return shipping & handling charge is received by MECOA/K&B. The customer has the option to have a non-warranty returned engine repaired, click this link to view our repair policy.

• Any non-warranty engine received by MECOA for which the service fee and/or return shipping & handling fee has not been remitted and which is not claimed 120 days after customer notification will be considered abandoned and will be disposed of at our discretion.
